My Little Job At The Zoo

Tomorrow I am going to spend the whole day invigilating zoo keepers who are taking their 'City and Guilds' exams. For some reason I am finding this inherently funny.

There's something funny about the word 'invigilation', let alone the rest.

Do you have a qualification in 'invigilating'? Did you take an exam? Was it invigilated? Who invigilated the first invigilator? What came first, the invigilator or the invigilated?

I think the zoo keepers should be told.

I BET you walk out with a brilliant story, Clare!

I'm smiling at the thought.
And if I think about it too long, I see you walking the rows between old fashioned wooden desks with some of our simian friends sitting and concentrating, frowning, pencil in one hand and the other hand on the head...
You, of course, are smiling at all, in sympathy!

Jonathan: yes, I'd never thought of this little conundrum - a bit like psychoanalysis - who analysed Freud?

Afraid not, Jan. I seem to be out of stories just at the minute.

CFR: Funny you should say that...
