My book as prop...!

Tonight two friends just texted/emailed me to say they'd seen my book on LEAD BALLOON - the comedy starring Jack Dee. It is here, 19.58 mins in...

I meant to watch this programme anyway, it's one of my favourite sitcoms on the TV at the moment - but unfortunately missed it so very glad the BBC has 'Play It Again'.

I am so pathetically thrilled about this I feel like I've had Christmas Day already.

Anyway, here is the still from the programme:

Congrats, Clare! If the same had happened to me, no one would be able to wipe the grin off my face.

Ohmigod, how absolutely COOL is that? Amazing! I too would be grinning and grinning. Wonderful that it's one of your favourite programs, how would you have felt if it wasn't? Still thrilled, I bet!
PS My word verification word is "realest" - I think that sums it up!

That is absolutely the most exciting, coolest thing! Jack Dee and your book together, on air, in the script! Merry Christmas, eh? Congrats a million times.

Yes, Mary - almost 24 hours later the grin is still firmly attached!

Interesting question, Tania - what would I feel if it were a programme I despised? Not as thrilled, certainly...but Lead Balloon is so funny and quirky. I like 'supporting' characters as much as the main ones - the cafe owner with his weird and yet sensible opinions, the miserable housekeeper and the daughter and his girl-friend. It's well-worth watching if you get the chance.

Yes, Brian - big, big grin. It must be the best thing that's happened to me for ages.

Ha, not quite 15 seconds, Anne, more like 5 - but extendable indefinitely thanks to play again, which I have, many times:-)

Thank you Sue G - and thank you to everyone else who took the time to comment too!

about this......

Don't you just hate it when you hit the post button too soon and can't then edit your message!

Thanks Barbara & CFR!

And Alex - I still can't believe we'd just exchanged tweets about this very programme before my friend texted me...weird.

Emerging Writer: Jack Dee uses it as an excuse to be found in his wife's office in the basement in the middle of the night. He claims he couldn't sleep so he would he'd give this book ago - then holds up 98 Reasons and says he's heard it's good! (Still can't believe this happened).

Heh, Ali - I was looking forward to you especially seeing this. Thank you! Sounds to me like you should have a special Xmas barbecue.

This is fantastic. I never thought of the prop potential of having a book published. Well done!

I wonder if Jack actually read the book?
