A Review of A Place of Meadows and Tall Trees on Now Appearing
I am extremely pleased to report that the award-winning science writer Brian Clegg has written a thoughtful and intelligent review of my book, A Place of Meadows and Tall Trees on his blog Now Appearing. It is not entirely positive but he couches what he says in such generous terms that I can't help but be very happy.

Thanks Twitches, yes - very happy.
Having just had a (not remotely significant unless you're anally retentive about the number of digits on both hands) birthday, I was bought books by both authors mentioned in the review. The Clare Dudman arrived today, only three days late. The Malcolm Pryce ("The Unbearable Lightness of Being in Aberystwyth") arrived on time and hence I've read most of it. In it, he poses the question "But why did the settlers in the last century, with all the world to choose from, opt for the southern tip of South America? What blinded them to the golden rule of colonisation? The ancient wisdom which says, it's hard to grow crops in a country where they have penguins." I hope to find out in the second book.
